Chyron Contributes to KMOV-TV“s HD Newscast
KMOV-TV, the CBS affiliate in St. Louis., Mo., acquired a set of systems from Chyron to do the graphics, station branding and promos for its HD newscast and its HD feed.
The station picked up two HD/SD-switchable HyperX2 graphics systems from the Melville, N.Y. vendor; a Channel Box, Chyron“s HD/SD-switchable channel-branding and automated-promo system; a Camio news graphic management solution; and an iSQ remote monitoring and playout application. KMOV is owned by Belo Corp. and operates on Channel 4.
According to Chyron, the station installed the two HyperX2 systems in the studio control room to generate the HD graphics for its local news, including lower thirds, full screen, banners and tickers. The Channel Box will be used for downstream graphics on the station“s HD channel. The system will provide channel branding, IDs, schools closings and severe weather information and so forth.
