BCI Introduces Two New Video Transport Products at InfoComm
Broadata Communications Inc. (BCI), a Torrance, Calif.-based developer of multimedia communication technologies will feature new IP video transport products at InfoComm06, June 7-9 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
BCI's 230i/520i units are capable of transmitting one channel, baseband, NTSC/PAL video, one stereo audio pair (2 audio channels), and multiple RS-232 or RS-422 data channels over IP/Ethernet networks. Using MPEG compression, the BCI product encodes the video, audio and data into 10/100 Ethernet packets and transports them over a common Ethernet/IP network where it is decoded back into its native format.
Freddie Lin, president and CEO said, "The design of this product is similar to other BCI products in that 'ease of use' is foremost, providing a true, 'plug and play' installation experience. Product versions are available for point to point applications, point to multi-point applications, streaming or multicast applications."
The 4700 series has a unique design that includes a simple switch setting that allows the unit to be configured "on the fly" to support either RGB or component video (Y Pb Pr / YUV) at HD resolutions (720p, 1080i, 1080p,) with built-in stereo audio support over a single fiber. The company said this fully digital product allows for complete "plug n play" transport of high-resolution video transmission for applications that include corporate presentations, digital signage, digital cinema, medical displays and simulators.
"This new product reflects state of the art design work and is a result of customer feedback and requests related to other products in the BCI portfolio," Lin said. "Since the 4700 series design is an uncompressed TDM based video design, in some cases pricing will be less than the existing CWDM based or compression based designs in the current marketplace."
BNI will be in Booth 423.
