published In a college version of the NFL Nework�s struggle, Comcast Cable and the fledgling Big Ten Network cannot come to an agreement on where the network appears on the cable lineup. The Big Ten wants to appear on basic cable while Comcast wants to make the network part of its premium package.
Naturally, when it comes to big-time college football impasses, local government officials feel the need to meddle. State Rep. Michael Sak, a Democrat from Grand Rapids, Mich., is working on legislation to settle the on-going dispute. He wants to create an independent arbitrator to help reach a compromise.
