Dublin-based Observe Outside Broadcast Facilities has used Eyeheight legalizing color correctors to assist in the telecast of the BBC’s “Nolan Live” interactive current affairs show.
Observe's HD1 vehicle was called in to keep the program on air while the vehicle normally deployed was away covering a sports event. HD1 is wired to handle 25 cameras and has a fiber and triax infrastructure for each source.
The Eyeheight CC-2 color corrector/legalizers, which were housed in an MX-9 chassis controlled from an FP-9 panel, were used to ensure consistent display on two large plasma panels on the show’s studio set, the company’s broadcast engineer Devin Murphy said.
The CC-2 provides individual control of R, G and B gains, lifts and master gamma. An integral legalizer lets users make full use of color correction without the risk that the resulting signals will exceed normal broadcast standards, such as EBU R103-2000.
Produced in Belfast, the 60-minute current affairs show offers a mix of news and viewer participation.
