A number of local TV stations owned by Belo have purchased a comprehensive 5.1 audio processing package from Neural Audio to handle all of their audio processing needs. The package includes the MultiMerge and Neural Surround DownMix Mix-Edit System. This allows users to detect and manage stereo and network 5.1 feeds without turning knobs or manually adjusting settings.
MultiMerge uses a detector core that resolves 2.0 and 5.1 content image changes and can be used to perform upmixing when required. In addition, the upmix algorithm operates in the frequency domain, which guarantees image stability and fewer artifacts in consumer surround speakers at home.
