Belo Corp. selected Harris Broadcast's ReCon Remote Control and Facility Management Systems for eight of the company's television stations:
* WFAA-TV, Dallas/Fort Worth
* WWL-TV, New Orleans
* KTVK-TV and KASW-TV, Phoenix
* KVUE-TV, Austin, Texas
* KHOU-TV, Houston
ReCon uses accessible IP networks to communicate with broadcast, network and facility control equipment at a transmission facility (HVAC, tower lights, security, etc.) Additionally, the system enables stations to monitor multiple transmitters from a single site, as well as monitor and control transmitter functions. According to Belo's product manager/engineering, the company plans to install ReCon systems in all of its television stations.
