Blackmagic Debuts Dual Link 4:4:4 HD Card
Blackmagic Design has introduced a dual link HD uncompressed 4:4:4 12-bit SDI capture card with 14-bit analog video monitoring. The DeckLink HD Pro PCIe switches between HD and SD modes and, according to published reports, can handle 4:2:2 HD-SDI or SD SDI. Blackmagic said 14-bit analog video monitoring allows users to switch standards without having to reconnect cables.
The PCIe (PCI Express) also reportedly features S/PDIF-unbalanced AES audio input and output, a tri-sync/burst reference input, and a built-in RS-422 remote control port for broadcast deck control. A high-speed, four-lane interface is included for Apple PowerMac G5 (at least the ones with PCIe slots).
The PCIe's capture card supports Mac OS X and Windows XP. The card is compatible with Apple Final Cut Pro HD and Premiere Pro 2.0, among other applications.
