Blackmagic Design's Decklink Pro and HDLink were used to create more than 60 visual effects shots in "The Aviator." Blackmagic Design--based in South Melbourne, Australia--also used gear from Digital Neural Axis (DNA), a Venice, Calif. design and digital post house.
"With the HDLink and HD pro, not only were we able to stay in sync with the other company's work, but we were also able to see the entire sequence in action," said Darius Fisher, president of DNA.
The new HD cards offer built-in 14-bit analog outputs, DVCPRO HD capture and playback.
