Meredith Appoints Board Member
The board of directors at Meredith Corp. of Des Moines, Iowa, has appointed Elizabeth Tallett as a member, effective as of the upcoming August meeting. Tallett, 59, will stand for election as a Class I director at the company“s annual shareholders meeting in November.
She currently is a principal of Hunter Partners, LLC, a management company for early to mid-stage pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device companies. Her prior senior management experience includes president and CEO of Transcell Technologies Inc.; president of Centocor Pharmaceuticals; member of the Parke-Davis executive committee; and director of Worldwide Strategic Planning for Warner-Lambert Co.
Tallett graduated from Nottingham University with degrees in mathematics and economics. She is a member of the board of directors of Principal Financial Group; Varian; Coventry Health Care Inc.; and IntegraMed America.
In addition to print properties, Meredith owns 13 TV stations, which generated income of of $19 million on revenues of $77.5 million in the company“s third fiscal quarter, ending March 31, compared to $21 million on $78.5 million in revenues a year ago. Overall Meredith generated $46 million net income on revenues of $317 million for the quarter, compared to $45 million on revenues of $330 million a year ago.
Shares of Meredith have been holding steady around $34.
