Bodelin Distribution has introduced Pocket ProPrompter, a new hand-held teleprompter software application for presentations, speeches and reporter stand-ups in the field.
The software, which runs on certain models of Pocket PC devices, can change the pace of the scroll, stop, resume and re-cue. It uses a variety of fonts and sizes, and can be controlled either by the Pocket PC device or a mouse via a USB host adapter.
Bodelin warns that Pocket ProPrompter works only with certain models of PDA using Microsoft’s Pocket PC operating system. Those devices tested with the application include Toshiba Pocket PC models: E330, E350, E740, and E750.
The Pocket ProPrompter software was originally part of a complete portable teleprompter system by Bodelin that includes a PocketPC, camera-mounted mirror system, and accessories.
The company said that embedded media in Afghanistan and Iraq have been using the Bodelin ProPrompter Pocket PC version with great success. NBC News in New York uses the Bodelin ProPrompter LCD version, along with many network affiliates and video production companies worldwide.
