CBS, UPN Get 'Amp'd' for Mobile Content
CBS and UPN have inked a deal with youth-focused Amp'd Mobile to carry behind-the-scenes footage, previews, interviews and show clips from prime time shows to Amp-d Mobile customers.
Amp'd Mobile is an integrated mobile entertainment service that uses wireless radio broadband data protocol technology called EVDO to deliver content at speeds up to 2.4 mbps over mobile devices. The service, scheduled to launch at the end of this month, will give customers access to entertainment branded channels on their cell phones in which they can download video, wallpapers, ringtones and voicetones.
According to the deal, Amp'd will carry "CSI: N.Y.," "Numb3rs," "The King of Queens" and clips and highlights from "Late Show with David Letterman." Viewers will also be able to watch "America's Next Top Model," "Everybody Hates Chris" and "Girlfriends."
