FCC Releases Report on TV Channel Utilization Data
The FCC released a report on TV Channel Utilization as of June 30, 2005. As it has in the past, the Public Notice announcing the Report listed http://www.fcc.gov/mmb/prd/tvu.html as the location for the report. If you click on this link, you will receive a message saying, "The Mass Media Bureau and Cable Bureau have merged! You will be automatically forwarded to the Media Bureau site... http://www.fcc.gov/mb/." On the Media Bureau home page, as of Sept. 25, there was no reference to the TV utilization report.
Links to the report can be found in the FCC September 23, 2005 Daily Digest. Scroll down to the Public Notices section. Many of the files list TV markets, their number, and the communities assigned to each market. Utilization data starts in file DOC-261230A13.pdf - Channel status in markets 1-150 and DOC-261230A14.pdf - Channel status in markets 151-225 and total markets. See Table 2- Part 1 for analog TV channel utilization broken down by band and license status and Table 2 - Part 2 for DTV channel utilization.
