Bridge Networks Plans DVB-H Trials in Sydney Australia
Bridge Networks said it has obtained approval from the Australian Broadcasting Authority (ABA) to conduct a trial of DVB-H technology in Sydney, Australia in early 2005.
, said, "Bridge Networks is very excited to be trialling DVB-H technology for the very first time in Australia," said Darren Kirsop-Frearson, Managing Director of The Bridge Networks. "This is a most exciting broadcasting development and a true convergence of the broadcast and telecommunication industries. The introduction of DVB-H means that consumers can watch, listen and play exactly what they want--wherever they want--and on a variety of devices."
The trial will be conducted under a scientific transmission license and will broadcast on UHF channel 29 from Sydney's Gore Hill to handsets employing the Symbian operating system. Transmission testing will use equipment from German manufacturer AdCoCom.
