Broadband Services launches Lifecycle Management
Broadband Services, a provider of integrated asset management and logistics services for the advanced communications industry, has launched a new service designed to minimize the economic effects of digital churn on cable system operators.
CPEase, a cradle-to-grave solution for digital set-top boxes, combines BSI’s IT Platform, Business Process Support Services and Logistics Infrastructure to provide operators with a full suite of CPE Lifecycle Management activities, from stocking of new inventory to equipment recovery, cleaning and screening, redistribution and warranty tracking.
The company said CPEase ensures reductions in both new capital spending and operational expenses for cable system operators at the local, regional and corporate levels, through a streamlined, end-to-end process that provides increased recovery percentage and “turn rate” of digital set-top box inventory; reductions in cycle time and cost for recovery, repair and redeployment; and reduced obsolescence and inventory shrinkage.
Designed to be implemented on a regional or system basis or to facilitate synchronized planning and deployment across multiple locations, CPEase provides complete management and control of set-top inventory, including tracking of recovery yield and recovery, repair and redeployment cycle times; management of real time CPE status, exception status codes and warranties; planning and forecasting tools that reflect churn, recovery, redeployment, subscriber growth and promotions; and an aggregated view of new CPE purchase plans, including supplier collaboration and vendor managed inventory.
