Broadcast Pix Golden With 200th Slate Sale
The city of Golden, Colo., has purchased a Broadcast Pix Slate 1000 live video production system to enable the telecasting of City Council meetings on the Comcast local government access cable channel.
The sale to the City of Golden marks the 200th governmental purchase of a Broadcast Pix system.
Chris Luna runs the Broadcast Pix Slate 1000 for the city of Golden, Colo.
"One of the benefits of the Broadcast Pix Slate switcher is that it integrates all the functionality of a television production control room into a single system—including switching, digital video effects, character generator, still and motion clips store, keyers, audio, camera controls, and monitoring,” said Chris Luna, television production technician for the Channel 8 Communications office for the city. “This makes it possible to put the entire system on a desktop and have a single operator run every aspect of the show. Since our channel sits between ABC 7 and NBC 9, two highly rated network affiliates, we felt it was crucial for this local market to have a high-quality major look. And the Broadcast Pix Slate 1000 has definitely delivered on all requirements.”
“While the switcher can be networked for multiple operators, its integration is vital for us because we don’t have enough space for more than one operator,” Luna continued.
