Bruce Franca Named Acting Chief of FCC OET
FCC Chairman Kevin J. Martin named Bruce Franca as Acting Chief of the Office of Engineering and Technology (OET). Bruce Franca has been Deputy Chief of OET since 1987 and has worked at the FCC since starting as an engineer in the Aviation and Marine Division of the former Safety and Special Radio Services Bureau in 1974. Since then, he has held positions at the Office of Plans and Policy and the Mass Media Bureau.
Before joining the FCC, Bruce Franca worked for the Naval Ship Research and Development Center, the Naval Electronics Laboratory Center and the Naval Applied Science Laboratory. He is a graduate of Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y. and did post graduate work in electrical engineer at the George Washington University.
