The FCC recommended users of its Universal Licensing System to upgrade to Java plug-in version 1.4.2_05 or higher by March 18, 2005 if they plan to file Form 601, Form 603 or Form 854. Form 601 is used for many wireless filings, including broadcast auxiliary and private operational fixed microwave licenses. Form 854 is used for antenna structure registrations.
The FCC Public Notice includes detailed instructions on how to upgrade Java on Windows 2000 and Windows XP computers. In the past I've had problems getting the ULS Java application to load on some browsers. Next week's upgrade may solve some of these problems!
