In preparation for multicasting, Nexstar-operated WTVO is replacing its automation system with a Sundance Digital Fastbreak Automation suite.
The ABC affiliate plans to consolidate operations with WQR, Nextar's Fox outlet, and a UPN station to transmit three channels from the WTVO master control starting in April.
WTVO's setup will include the Sundance Digital Intelli-Sat Broadcast Manager to schedule/record satellite feeds, two media prep stations, a SQL server for database management, three air stations and a digital delivery management system (DDMS) module.
