Canada: Bell Adds French HD Channels
Bell Canada has added five French-speaking HD channels to it menu for subscribers, growing its HD tier to more than 60 outlets. Bell Canada said its “ExpressVu Digital TV” currently provides the most HD channels of any Canadian TV content provider including the most in both French and English language.
The French venues cover movies, reality TV, dramas (mostly produced in Quebec), kids programs (6-14), and history. This latest announcement last week directly affecting HD viewers closely followed the launch (Oct. 3) of the new 2007-08 National Hockey League season via RDS, also airing in HD, according Bell Canada in Montreal.
The five new French channels are:
- VRAK TV HD (ch. 855)
- Historia HD (ch. 856)
- Z Télé HD (ch. 854)
- TVA HD (ch. 861)
