At IBC2007, Canon introduced the BU-40H remote control robotic pan-tilt HD camera system, which leverages advanced optics, pan-tilt and imaging technologies for use in such applications as traffic and weather POV locations, and remote-control Web cameras.
The successor to Canon’s SD NU-700N robotic pan-tilt camera, the BU-40H features an HD camera equipped with three 1/3in (1,670,000-pixel) CCDs and a 20X HD 4.5 - 90mm optical zoom lens. In addition to providing controllability and smooth pan-tilt motion, the BU-40H also offers auto focus and image stabilizer technology.
The BU-40H camera provides genlock input for video system synchronization. Outputs include HD-SDI and SD-SDI with embedded audio or SD composite NTSC. It can output HD-SDI and NTSC simultaneously for HD recording and SD monitoring at the same time.
Capable of panning 340 degrees and tilting 80 degrees (30 degrees up, 50 down), the camera’s outdoor pan-tilt head and weatherproof housing are designed for operation from 5 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit. The housing also meets the IP-45 specifications for dustproof and waterproof efficiency, and it has a windshield wiper blade to keep its lens port clear. The total weight of the pan-tilt system, camera and housing is about 37lbs.
