Canopus' EDIUS SP for HDV is now available. The professional nonlinear editing solution provides native editing and real-time processing of HDV, DV, uncompressed SD, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 formats.
EDIUS SP for HDV provides an easy transition for post-production facilities to move from SD to the world of HD video. In addition, the company is offering EDIUS SP for HDV to customers who own the Canopus Codec Option Pack. The pack includes DVCPRO HD software codec that provides full native DVCPRO HD (SMPTE 370M) compliance.
EDIUS SP for HDV lets users edit by way of Canopus' variable-bit-rate HQ codec for increased quality and real-time performance. The system can transparently capture video to the Canopus HQ codec, using intra-field coding with 4:2:2 sampling, to provide better-than-HDV quality and significantly increase real-time editing performance.
