Carriage Deal Signed By Public TV, Cable
By TVTechnology
published A 10-year carriage deal has been signed by the Association of Public Television Stations and PBS, and the American Cable Association.
The agreement ensures the carriage of public TV's multicast DTV and HDVT channels on cable systems nationwide. It applies to participating ACA members’ HD cable systems and includes DTV carriage commitments for public TV stations before and after the DTV transition.
Per the pact, cable operators will carry the DTV station’s primary signal on their lowest-priced tier. Multicast signals would be carried on the same tiers as other broadcast multicast signals.
