CAS Nominees Used Zaxcom's Deva
Several films and television shows that used Zaxcom's Deva have been nominated for outstanding achievement in sound mixing in 2005 at this weekend's Cinema Audio Society (CAS) awards. The production mixers for "Crash," "Walk the Line" and "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" are among those that recorded on Zaxcom's hard-disk recorder.
"The fact that some of the world's most talented production mixers, working on projects that demand the highest in digital audio quality, chose the Deva is truly an honor for us," said Glenn Sanders, president of Zaxcom in Pompton Plains, NJ.
The Zaxcom Deva, available as the eight-track Deva IV and 10-track Deva V, offers users 24-bit multidisk, multiformat location recording with backup to DVD. Customers can background-record multiple disks throughout the day, which allows them to record all disk copies required by post at the same time as the original recordings. Both the Deva IV and V feature 16 channels of audio mixing and a 10-second record buffer, as well as FireWire disk recording.
Winners of the 2005 CAS awards will be announced Saturday, Feb. 25 in Los Angeles.
