CES: Entropic, Avtrex to Demo Digital Entertainment Gear
Entropic and Avtrex will demo coax network and software for home entertainment at CES.
Avtrex will demo its software designed for integration in set-top boxes, DVD players and recorders, servers and network gateways. The Avtrex PVR has plug-and-go setup and offers support for several TV sets and viewers.
Entropic will demo its Proton Communications HD-PVRs connected by coaxial cable streaming HD video while also sharing music and photos.
The technology that Entropic provides allows digital entertainment to be shared throughout the home using the existing coax cables that are in the house, according to Patrick Henry, CEO and president of the San Diego-based semiconductor company.
"Putting entertainment content into a digital format makes it easy to store and easy to share," Henry said.
