CES2007: Dish to Offer its HD DVR for Free
By TVTechnology
published EchoStar Communications said this week its Dish Network will offer new satellite subscribers its HD ViP622 DVR receiver for free as part of Dish's Digital Home Advantage Program.
According to the DBS provider, the HD DVR is the first satellite set-top box to be offered with no upfront costs to new subscribers. The DVR receiver can support two TV sets in separate rooms.
The HD ViP622 DVR was awarded an Editor's Choice and ranked "best in class" in the DVR category by online network CNET for its features and design (including what EchoStar said is "the only true 30-second [commercial] skip feature in the industry").
