CES2007: HDMI 1.3 'Simplified' for HD Displays
RZ Products Group is now providing its "HDMI Simplified" system to assist in the conversion, connection and switching of home audio and video equipment to HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) 1.3 standard that is being incorporated into many newer HD TV sets.
RZ said this week its system is comprised of a "5-input 1-output" HDMI 1.3-compliant switch box with optional converter cables.
The switch (HT-SW501) offers push-button or remote selection of video and audio signals through the five HDMI ports, allowing multiple sources to be shared on one HDMI display. Each converter cable plugs into, and is powered by, the switch to handle conversion of specific legacy audio and video signals to an HDMI-compatible HD video and multichannel audio format.
Connectors are incorporated into the cables to provide a "link good" confirmation light when components are connected correctly. Shipments are expected to begin in the second quarter.
