CES2007: Sony Unveils Bravia Internet Video Link for HD
Following one of the general themes of this year's CES show--getting Internet-based content to the TV set and to portable devices, preferably without a PC--Sony said its Bravia Internet Video Link will allow most of its own Bravia brand digital TV sets to access online video, including HD, from a stable of content providers such as AOL, Yahoo!, Grouper, Sony Pictures and BMG Music.
Content will be streamed over a broadband connection directly to the TV set, thereby eliminating the need for a computer. The link box will also support video via RSS feeds and features the Xross Media Bar interface, (the same interface used for Sony's PlayStation3 game console) according to Engadget.com.
