OmniBus Systems' Colossus automation system has been installed at chellomedia, a Netherlands-based broadcaster and content provider, for the playout of three new HD channels.
In August, chellomedia went online with the three new HD channels, including the Film1 channel, the Sports1 channel and the National Geographic channel. The Colossus system at chellomedia ingests HD content to several Omneon video servers using Omnibus' G3 ingest software. The facility also uses Screen Subtitling and Miranda logos for playout.
Colossus is a timeline-based, multichannel automation and control system with tools for ingest, quality assurance, content management, workflow management and interfacing with archive systems. As a result, chellomedia will have the capability to ingest content from videotape locally, coding at either 30i or 50i.
