China: HDMI Agent to Hold First Developers Conference
HDMI Licensing LLC, the agent which licenses HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) specifications which are becoming the de facto connectivity standard for most HD products, is joining forces with the China Video Industry Association to sponsor HDMI’s first Developers Conference in the world’s most populous nation.
The one-day event, which has free registration, will be in the city of Shenzhen on Wednesday, Sept. 12.
Several of China’s biggest manufacturers of HD monitors, receivers and other TV components are longtime CVIA members. The developers’ conference agenda has been designed to aid existing and new HD, CE and PC manufacturers to put into practice advanced HDMI 1.3 features and establish a “best practices” scenario.
Attendees are expected to include design engineers and planners from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and China, according to HDMI Licensing.
Major conference sponsors include: Agilent Technologies; Digital Content Protection LLC; Quantum Data; Silicon Image; Simplay Labs; and Tektronix. Best Buy will send a presenter.
