Chyron Graphics Systems Chosen By Sony Pictures Entertainment And OMNI.10
Sony Pictures Entertainment and OMNI.10, a Canadian television station owned by Rogers Communications, have both purchased HyperX graphics systems.
Sony Pictures Entertainment installed two HyperX HD graphics systems with Lyric PRO advanced creation and playout software as part of the switch to full HD production, post and distribution for the programs Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. With their new HyperX system, Sony Pictures Entertainment now has a high-speed graphics engine with which to create multi-layer effects and transitions for logos and lower thirds, plus the capacity for realtime 2D/3D animation with 3D object import.
OMNI.10, part of the OMNI Television Group, will use its new HyperX as its primary graphics system and short clip player for current affairs, talk shows and other short programs. OMNI.10 will be able to create animated and still lower thirds, over-the-shoulder and full frame shots. The system’s HD capabilities will be used when the network makes the switch to high-definition in the future.
