South Dakota Public Broadcasting has selected Media 100’s 844/X editing system for the creation of on-air opens, promotions, and network image spots.
Cine-Byte Imaging, a digital film facility in Canada, has deployed the NexStor 4711F storage system from nStor Technologies, to capture, store and transfer special effects to film.
An influx of new digital intermediate business caused Cine-Byte’s storage requirements to double overnight to 12TB, creating a need for expansion. With the help of Toronto-based systems integrator Helios/Oceana, Cine-Byte chose nStor’s solution after realizing that additional Fibre Channel storage was too cost prohibitive. The company now maintains a 16TB storage array.
In addition to scanning and recording special effects, Cine-Byte offers digital optical production as well as complete digital intermediate services, ranging from scanning and digital dust removal to color grading and laser film recording.
NexStor’s storage provisioning allows users to add disk capacity while clustering fully- redundant hardware components to ensure the highest levels of data availability. The platform has been optimized for storage-intensive and mission-critical environments.
The NexStor 4700 SATA platform is based on nStor’s core technology foundation, which includes the Fibre Channel RAID controller and StorView storage management software. The NexStor 4700 series includes Fibre Channel-to-SATA and SCSI-to-SATA models.
