Ciprico has purchased Huge Systems, a provider of entry-level storage solutions for desktop video production, for $1,325,000 in cash.
Huge management will join Ciprico in similar capacities, while all sales, engineering and technical support activities for Huge will remain in California. Ciprico, which is headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, said it would continue to invest in the Huge’s low-cost RAID technology in addition to its performance-based RAID and DiMeda network attached storage solutions. Huge had sales of approximately $5 million and earnings before taxes of approximately $300,000 in 2004.
The acquisition will broaden Ciprico’s range of storage solutions; add new channel outlets; and expand technical capabilities.
