Clear Channel Television handles master control for KVOS-TV

At CCTV’s TOC facility, the feed can be assembled in Tulsa from tapes sent in or files can be uploaded onto a local server, and then streamed to CCTV via FTP over a DS3 line.

Master control functions for KVOS-TV, an independent station that serves Bellingham, WA, and Vancouver, British Columbia, are now handled by Clear Channel Television’s (CCTV) operations center (TOC) in Tulsa, OK.

The independent station joins the UPN and FOX affiliates in Tulsa as clients of Clear Channel’s all-digital facility.

The facility provides a digital broadcast stream that includes programming, commercials and transmitter monitoring information. Stations can increase or lower power when necessary. CCTV also supplies all emergency alert system operations. KVOS operators are able to switch between the main program feed and the station’s news feed for late-breaking events

At the TOC, the feed can be assembled in Tulsa from tapes sent in or files can be uploaded onto a local server, and then streamed to CCTV via FTP over a DS3 line. These files are saved on CCTV’s storage system, and played out based on a program schedule.

Station logos and call letters can be superimposed over programming by the TOC.
