CNBC has selected Antenna Technology Communications to provide simultaneous C- and Ku-band satellite reception at its new global headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, N.J.
The company will provide its ATCi Simulsat C/Ku Multibeam antenna solution to CNBC for use as the cable network’s primary source for critical broadcast applications.
CNBC, with more than 175 million homes worldwide, chose Simulsat C/Ku because of the antenna's ability to receive programming from up to 35 satellites simultaneously without degradation of quality across each signal. Prior to installing Simulsat C/Ku, CNBC used several steerable parabolic antennas to meet its multiple satellite reception requirements.
With a 70-degree longitude satellite view arc, Simulsat C/Ku can receive a variety of C and Ku-band satellite programming data. One Simulsat C/Ku is capable of doing the work of 35 steerable parabolic antennas and only requires the space of one and a half antennas.
