Comcast Media Center monitors MPEG-2 signals with Thales
The Comcast Media Center (CMC), in Washington, D.C., is using the Thales Granite MPEG-2 transport stream system to monitor 40 different ASI transport streams in a MPEG-2 digital multiplex. The Granite system provides users with a high-performance, multichannel transport stream monitor that helps ensure quality of service.
The Media Center provides network origination services via satellite for more than 80 linear television channels, including HD and SD TV networks. The facility’s Headend In The Sky (HITS) digital television platform delivers more than 150 digital services to 2,000 cable systems across the country.
