The FCC Oct. 1 released its Sept. 11 Report and Order and Notice of Proposed Rulemaking regarding rules to ensure competition in the video distribution market.
The FCC action protects the access of competitive multichannel video programming distributors to essential programming and extends an existing ban that prohibits exclusive contracts between vertically integrated programmers and cable operators.
