Companies showcase 10 Gigabit Ethernet HD codec for IPTV
Integrated with Neterion’s 10 GigE technology, Entone’s StreamLiner network video recorder (pictured) provides robust features for triple-play services with VoIP, IPTV and high-speed Internet access.
Entone Technologies and Neterion have teamed up to provide the first 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GigE) high-definition IPTV demonstration.
The demo, at Supercomm in Chicago, was sponsored by the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF), an industry alliance of more than 70 telecommunications service providers, network equipment/software manufacturers, semiconductors vendors and testing organizations.
Integrated with Neterion’s 10 GigE technology, Entone’s StreamLiner network video recorder (NVR) provided video streaming to 30 of MEF’s participating members. The demo covered eight specific technology areas in an attempt to demonstrate that Carrier Ethernet is now ready to deliver ‘real world’ applications such as triple-play services with VoIP, IPTV and high-speed Internet access.
