Congress Approves CPB Funding
By TVTechnology
published Before lawmakers left town for Thanksgiving, they approved fiscal year 2005 funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. The appropriations measure included $400 million for CPB in FY 2007; $39.7 million in digital transition funds for FY 2005; and $40 million in public television interconnection funds for FY 2005.
In addition to the CPB accounts, the omnibus funded the Public Telecommunications Facilities Program for $21 million for FY 2005. All FY 05 funding is subject to an .83 percent across-the-board reduction, including CPB's current year FY 2005 appropriation, approved in 2002.
