Cox’s Fisher named chairman of NAB TV Board
Andy Fisher, president of Cox Television, has been elected chairman of the NAB’s TV Board, which represent the organization’s TV station members.
Fisher’s career with Cox began in 1984 as vice president and general manager of WSB-TV in Atlanta. Since 1990, he was named executive vice-president, television affiliates, and served as executive vice president-television until becoming Cox's president in 2001.
Previously, Fisher was a news executive and reporter. From 1975 to 1984, he served as news director at WPRI-TV, Providence, RI; assistant news director at WCAU-TV, Philadelphia and WBBM-TV, Chicago; and news director at WAGA-TV, Atlanta, and KCBS, Los Angeles.
Ben Tucker, president of Fisher Broadcasting, was elected NAB TV board vice chairman. Both he and Fisher will serve on the NAB’s executive committee.
