Crispin ArchiveManager Now Supports the Sony PDD
Crispin recently added support for the Sony Professional Disk for Data (PDD) to its ArchiveManager. The PDD has 23GB archive capacity and can handle file transfer speeds of 11 MBps to read and 9 MBps to write.
ArchiveManager with PDD extends storage of on-air video servers. The base system includes the Linux-based ArchiveManager computer and GUI application. Metadata and video assets can be tracked through a Web interface.
The new technology will be used for tasks such as medical imaging, audio/video editing, graphic design and more, according to Sony. ArchiveManager can also be integrated with Crispin's total automation system.
Crispin--based in Raleigh, N.C.--will continue to offer ArchiveManager with the DVD-RAM drives.
