College Sports Television (CSTV), an independent cable network, and Akamai Technologies are creating an on-demand streaming platform for the online delivery of college sports content.

Akamai will serve as the content and streaming distribution provider for CollegeSports.com and its network of 150 official athletic sites for colleges, conferences and athletic associations. Akamai will provide complete content delivery of CollegeSports.com’s interactive multimedia, including streaming audio of college games, press conferences, game highlights, College Sports TV analysis and coaches’ shows, as well as streamed on-demand College Sports TV programming.
CSTV said its use of Akamai’s services will result in numerous user enhancements for fans visiting the CollegeSports.com sites including high-quality streaming, site reliability, and customization. In addition, CSTV will provide a full suite of tools and resources enabling schools, conferences and athletic associations to maximize exposure for their teams and student-athletes while expanding online revenue-producing opportunities.
