CTVglobemedia has contracted with Ross Video to provide production control room technologies for all CTV properties.
The network’s first two purchases made under this five-year agreement are for Vision 4 QMD-X switchers and SoftMetal servers, which are being used in CTV National News and CTV Toronto’s news control rooms.
Prior to the agreement, CTVglobemedia had implemented several Ross switchers for local news production in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Sudbury, Regina and Saskatoon; A-Channel News in Ottawa, Barrie and London; and in the main control room for CTV Newsnet. In sports production, CTV has implemented Ross switchers in TSN’s SportsCenter, RDS Studio 2 and RIS.
CTV owns and operates 27 conventional stations across the country, with interests in 35 specialty channels.
