David Price speaks out on digital TV panel at IBC2009

David Price, VP at Harmonic, is one of five industry authorities who will participate in an IBC2009 panel exploring where digital television is headed.

The panel, “The Future of Digital Television: An MPEGIF Master Class,” is scheduled for Monday Sept. 14. It promises to offer a wide-ranging discussion on a variety of hot topics, including the scheduled transition to digital television for Eastern Europe and Russia, lessons learned from the just-completed DTV transition in the United States and the increasing role over-the-top video is playing as viewers catch up on their favorite shows online.

I spoke with Price to find out more about the issues he plans to discuss and where he thinks the discussion is likely to go during the panel.
