D.C. Area Production Companies Merge

WASHINGTON, D.C.: Interface Media Group, a production and post-production company here has acquired Virginia-based Alexandria Productions. Deal terms were not disclosed.

Alexandria Founder and President Joel Westbrook is joining IMG as executive producer. He’ll oversee original production, co-production and multiplatform projects.

Prior to founding Alexandria Productions in 1995 Westbrook was senior vice president and executive producer at Time Life Television and Video. He worked at Turner Productions as an executive vice president before Time Life.

At Alexandria, Westbrook produced hundreds of hours of nonfiction programming for NBC, PBS, Discovery, TLC, National Geographic, TBS and other domestic and international broadcasters, IMG said. Interface Media Group has been in business for more than three decades. The company provides “script-to-screen creative development; location and studio production and transmission...,” and a variety of other services. Clients range from advertisers and PR agencies, to corporate entities, government agencies, art museums, PBS, Discovery and National Geographic Channel among others.
