Deluxe Readies 5.1 Broadcasts
Munich-based broadcasting group Deluxe plans to launch around-the-clock Dolby Digital 5.1 broadcasts starting next year. The announcement came during the Medientage München event.
"This is a quantum leap for television entertainment, and marks the development of our premium selection," said Markus Langemann, founder and CEO of the group, which consists of four TV and two radio programs.
"Deluxe not only brought back the 24 hour music station to the adult viewer; with the transmission of the program in Dolby Digital 5.1 — 24 hours a day — music television becomes great music cinema. In this way, Deluxe takes a leading solo position in the market."
Deluxe launched in April 2005. Its programming is available across Europe, unencrypted via the Astra 1H satellite at 19.2° East Longitude, as well as through an increasing number of cable providers in Germany and Europe. It can also be accessed via the Internet.
