Detroit Station Upgrades with Sony Switcher
Post-Newsweek station WDIV recently installed a Sony DVS-9000 production switcher.
The DVS-9000 integrates with the multiformat MVS-8000 switcher and can be configured from two to four M/E banks in the processor frame and multiple processors and panels can be connected on the same network.
The M/E banks are equipped with four FineKey keyers with edge generators, four chromakeyers and 14 dedicated wipe generators with five transition generators. Other features include two 100 MB Ethernet connections that are used for real-time control and for transferring data.
Jason, Weintraub, technical director at the Detroit station said that the DVS-9000 switcher gives WDIV more flexibility and allows the station to produce more advanced graphics.
