Digital Rapids helps Korea’s largest Telcom stream video
Korea’s telecommunication’s company, Korea Telecom (KT), has selected multiple StreamZ-2500 dual channel servers from Digital Rapids for up to 100 channels of Windows Media 9-compressed video streaming over its broadband network; at a data rate of 2Mb/s and frame rate of 30 fps.
KT first went live in October 2003 using Digital Rapids technology to deliver 20 channels to approximately 300,000 subscribers. By 2005 KT said it would invest $1.2 billion in the expansion and upgrading of its backbone network, optical transmission network, e-commerce service, ADSL and Internet infrastructure.
Digital Rapids markets hardware and software solutions used for the production and distribution of streaming media content from traditional broadcast sources.
