Digital Vision, Vistek Forge OEM Agreement
Swedish company Digital Vision and signal processing equipment manufacturer Vistek Electronics have signed an agreement to jointly develop a motion-compensated HDTV standards converter. The companies also signed an OEM agreement that enables Vistek to manufacture and sell the finalized product.
The system will combine the Digital Vision PHAME motion estimation algorithm with Vistek's video format conventions and will be initially aimed at broadcast sports events and news applications. Advanced motion estimation algorithms can be used to compensate for any motion present and will result in clear converted pictures, critical for broadcast sports applications that require fast motion imagery.
The companies have worked together in previous projects, including the Vector-VMC, a video standards converter, which won an Emmy.
