DIRECTV to launch interactive services
DIRECTV has launched its new interactive services this month, under the banner of DIRECTV Active, which gives viewers access to local weather information, daily horoscopes, stock summaries and lottery results.
It’s uncertain when DIRECTV will also provide interactive features for shows such as CBS’ “Survivor,” FOX’s “American Idol” and the horse racing channel, TVG Network, which have all dabbled in the technology with limited success.
DIRECTV has experienced some technical glitches with the interactive service, which has delayed its launch until this month. The DIRECTV Active services will be free to subscribers who own interactive-enabled receivers.
