DirecTV to Show More Tackles and Touchdowns in HD
Football fans will be able to see five times as many NFL games in high definition this season as last year, according to DirecTV's Executive Vice President Stephanie Campbell of Programming.
DirecTV will offer 100 HD broadcasts of 2004 NFL SUNDAY TICKET regular season games, provided by Fox Sports--which is broadcasting most of the HD games -- and CBS Sports. This offering will be available to DirecTV residential and commercials NFL SUNDAY TICKET subscribers who have the DirecTV HD system equipment.
"Our commitment to leadership in cutting-edge programming and technology is as evident with this announcement of HD NFL broadcasts in 2004, as it was in 1994, when DirecTV introduced the concept of out-of-market sports broadcasts with NFL SUNDAY TICKET," Campbell said.
Broadcasts of NFL SUNDAY TICKET HD will be available on DIRECTV channels 70-89. HD game selections will be determined on a week-to-week basis and listed on channel 753 by each Thursday during the regular season.
